


The Universidad del Mayab is the largest private university in the southeastern part of the Mexican Republic. Founded in 1984, it belongs to the Anahuac Network of Catholic educational institutions directed by the Legionaries of Christ with the objective of contributing to the formation of men and women of diverse faiths and cultures, as proactive leaders with an international vision and committed to the development of society.
Our academic network extends across the globe including more than 100 educational centers from kindergarten to graduate institutions committed to academic excellence.
The Universidad del Mayab has academic exchanges with institutions in Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“Vince in Bono Malum” (Conquer evil with good) is the synthesis of the philosophy of Universidad del Mayab. It is a concept which repudiates negative attitudes through a program of positive action in order to overcome the evil of ignorance with the wisdom of science; the evil of improvisation with skillful professionalism supported by modern technology, the evil of rash materialism with the benevolence of humanism, the evil of social antagonisms with the benefits of peace and harmony, the evil of injustice with the virtue of charity and the evil of audacity with the merit of enlightenment.
The Universidad del Mayab is located in Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan. Named the First American Capital of Culture, Merida is the center of cultural and business activities of the Southeastern part of the Mexican Republic. It is also the center of Healthcare Services and concentrates the most important export manufacturing activities in the same area.
Universidad del Mayab is located approximately ten miles from the center of Merida, five miles from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, and two miles from major Mayan ruins. It is also located four hours by car from the exclusive international resort center of Cancun.

The campus of the Universidad del Mayab has strikingly modern architecture reflecting the Mayan style. The buildings have, in fact, received national and international recognition for their beauty and highly functional facilities.
The library is located on the second floor of the main building. It offers areas of individual study and areas to work in groups.

Our library has more than 34,000 books. Students, faculty members and staff have exclusive access to all data bases.
Located on the second floor of the main building, our Computer Lab belongs to our Technological Services Department with the objective of providing students with the most advanced software and hardware resources in order to facilitate their learning process.
Students may access the Computer Lab services thorough the Internet or on the campus facilities. The Universidad del Mayab has wireless internet access, printers are located in strategic areas in the university for the convenience of the students
