Visa
Students must obtain a FM3 permit (student visa) to study at Universidad Anáhuac Mayab. The FM3 is a permit to enter into Mexico which allows a stay for up to 1 year. This permit can be obtained at Mexican Embassies and Consulates within your country.
Within 30 days of your arrival in Mérida, the Mexican government requires that you submit the following documents:
Migration documentation
If you do not have your FM3 when you arrive to Mexico, please go to the National Immigration Office (Instituto Nacional de Migración) with the following documents:
- An original copy of the letter from your college or university authorizing your participation in the Universidad Anáhuac Mayab’s Student Exchange Program.
- An original copy of your acceptance letter from the Universidad Anáhuac Mayab specifying the level of studies, program, area of study and the length of the exchange).
- The National Foreigners Registration Fee of $669 mexican pesos* (approx. USD $48).
- Proof of address while in Mérida (Please contact the National Immigration Office listed below for details).
- Original and copy of your passport.
- Original and copy of your Visa.
- Original copy of your most recent bank statement.
- A original letter written in Spanish addressed to the Instituto Nacional de Migración, in which you declare under oath (bajo protesta de decir verdad) the level and program that you wish to take at the University of Mayab.
- You must provide satisfactory proof of your uninterrupted and periodic means for support during your studies in our institution (Bank statements, scholarships, etc.)
- If you are under 18: Parents permission letter in Spanish sealed by the Mexican Consulate.
If you already have the form ”FM3” you must obtain the National Register of Foreigners (FM1):
Affiliation sheet properly filled out. In case you do not have this document, please take the following to the National Immigration Office:
- Copy of the three first pages of your FM3
- 3 pictures black and white, size 4 cm. by 4 cm in black and white (women: uncovered forehead, no earrings, no make-up)
- 2 pictures black and white, taken from your right profile.
- 2 references in Mexico (names and addresses).
- Copy of ID from the person who signed the Acceptance Letter (Provided by the International Academic Affairs Office at Universidad Anáhuac Mayab).
- Letter issued by the Registrars Office indicating Universidad Anáhuac Mayab “number of basic file” (número de expediente básico de la Universidad Anáhuac Mayab).
- Proof of address while in Mérida.
- A letter written by the student requesting his/ her registration in the National Register for Foreigners and the registration in the FM3 of his/her address while in Merida.
- Payment of the National Foreigners Registration Fee of $669 mexican pesos* (approx. USD $48).
- Original and copy of passport.

In order to apply for authorization to do a paid internship or professional practices, you must provide the immigration office with a letter from Universidad Anáhuac Mayab, certifying that this activity is part of your exchange program.
